A mother, a photographer, and a quiet noticer of the in-between.
I'm Hannah Hargrave — a lifestyle and family photographer based in Grand Junction, Colorado. I work with families who are deep in the most tender, exhausting, beautiful season of their lives, and I help them feel seen inside it.
Most of my clients tell me the same thing before our first session: "I'm never in the photos." They have thousands of phone snaps of their kids and almost none of themselves. They want to remember how it actually felt — the small hand on their cheek, the messy kitchen, the morning light — not just what their family looked like on a holiday card.
That's what I make. Not posed portraits. Not performances. Quiet, honest photographs of the life you're already living.

You are the heirloom
Your kids don't need another picture of themselves. They need to remember the way you looked at them.
Slow over polished
I'd rather catch a real laugh in a messy kitchen than a perfect smile in a studio.
Quietly directed
Gentle prompts, no awkward poses. You'll feel held through the whole session — even if you've never been in front of a camera.
Rooted in Colorado
Backyards, golden fields, kitchen light, the river at dusk — the West is woven into how I see.
When I'm not behind the camera

- Mom to a wild-hearted toddler and a very patient rescue dog.
- Married to my best friend and most trusted second-shooter.
- Coffee with cream, always. Iced even in winter.
- Will drive an extra hour for golden hour in red rock country.

- Believer that a good cry mid-session is a sign we got it right.
